Dungeon Masters (Part Time)

Job Description: The Dungeon Master is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic modern tabletop RPG gamer who will run pencil & paper Role Playing Games at Dice & Donuts.

They should have exceptional understanding of 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons, as well as other contemporary RPG systems, and familiar with running pre published adventures, “One shots” and ongoing campaigns, as well as keeping gaming sessions to schedule, and players their engaged.

They should be charismatic, approachable and personable and able to act as an ambassador for Dice & Donuts and RPGs in general. They are able to teach new players with patience and enthusiasm and  understand that the customer’s enjoyment is more important than playing “the best games” or “playing properly” and be able to put their personal gaming tastes aside in favour of the customer experience. The will be able to help customers create new characters, and level up characters, as well as offer advice, and product suggestions to customers who would like to run their own role playing sessions.

The Dungeon Master would be expected to learn basic barista skills, and be willing to aid their Non Playing Colleagues if needed, for example, by making simple drinks and sandwiches or waiting on tables and taking orders to customers.

An understanding of modern tabletop games, their mechanics and components, would be an advantage, as well as an awareness of the most popular LCG, CCG and competitive card & dice games. They will be willing to help customers set up games and be prepared to help with any questions the customers might have.

The Dungeon Master will also be expected to keep the customer area clean and tidy, this will include clearing and cleaning tables and furniture after customers leave, keeping the bathrooms clean and presentable, and anything else that might cause a barrier to service or hazard to customers and staff.

The Dungeon Master must have great people skills and personal hygiene, excellent customer service and work well as part of a team. This role requires candidates to be available Wednesday afternoons and evenings, as well as Saturday & Sundays.

Non Player Colleague (Part Time)

Job Description: Non Playing Colleague at Dice & Donuts.

A Non Playing Colleague at Dice & Donuts is a friendly and approachable person able to perform a variety of tasks, both alone and as part of a team. The daily duties for this role can include, greeting and taking customer orders, serving food in a polite and friendly manner,  food and drink preparation, ensuring kitchen, service and restaurant areas are kept clean, tidy and safe, cash handling and till operation.

A Non Playing Colleague must have a good level of literacy and numeracy, and be both a good written and verbal communicator. No professional qualifications are required for this role, but an understanding of food hygiene and food safety would be advantageous to an application.

The Colleague should be able to learn through demonstration and on the job training, and take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of others who may be affected by their acts or omissions at work.

The Colleague would be expected to learn simple introductory games and be willing to help The Games Guides when needed, this may be greeting and seating customers at tables, or teaching simple games to customers if Games Guides are temporarily unavailable.

Games Guides (Part Time)

Job Description: Games Guide at Dice & Donuts

The Games Guide is a knowledgeable and enthusiastic modern tabletop gamer who will help Dice & Donuts’ customers select games that pair perfectly with their requirements. They should have exceptional understanding of the core games in the Dice & Donuts game library and exemplary customer service skills.

A Games Guide must have an understanding of modern tabletop games, their mechanics and components, and know how to guide our customers choice so that they have an enjoyable games night. They will be able to understand that the customer’s enjoyment of games is more important than playing “the best games” and be able to put their personal gaming tastes aside in favor of the customer experience.

They will help customers set up games, teach the game in a clear and concise manner and be prepared to help with any questions the customers might have.
